Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Legacy Quest, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms are between you and Digital Skyline Co., the operator of Legacy Quest (“we”).

If you are setting up a household on behalf of your family, you also accept these terms on behalf of the household you create and are responsible for the accounts and managed profiles you add to it.

You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for activity that happens under your account. Use an accurate email address — it is how we verify the account and how you recover access.

• You must be 18 or older to independently create a Legacy Quest account or to create and manage a household.
• Family members aged 13–17 may use Legacy Quest only with the authorization and supervision of a parent or legal guardian in their household.
• Children under 13 may not independently create an account. They participate through managed profiles created and controlled by an adult in their household.

In the current version, self-service signup always creates an adult account, children do not have logins of their own, and joining a household from an invitation link is not yet active. See the Privacy Policy for how children's information is handled.

Legacy Quest organises people into households. Every member shares the core of the app. Certain adults are designated Household Guardians, who additionally can:

• invite and remove household members
• manage household settings, security and billing
• open the Family Vault — wealth, businesses, wills, trusts, estate planning, documents, emergency information and stored passwords
• designate other guardians

A household supports multiple guardians and always has at least one. If you are a guardian, you are responsible for who you admit to your household, for the participation of the children in it, and for what you choose to store in the vault.

Guardianship is a role inside your own household. It grants no access to any other family and no access to the Legacy Quest platform itself.

Your family's content is yours. You keep ownership of everything you create or upload.

You grant us only the permission we need to run the service: to store, back up, transmit and display your content to the people you have shared it with, and to resize or re-encode images so they load quickly. That permission exists to operate Legacy Quest and for no other purpose.

You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload — including photographs of other people and documents belonging to your family.

You agree not to use Legacy Quest to:

• break the law, or store content that is illegal to possess or share
• upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the service or other families’ data
• attempt to access a household you do not belong to, or probe our access controls
• harass, abuse or endanger anyone, including members of your own household
• resell or redistribute the service
• use automated means to scrape or bulk-download the service

Legacy Quest is a private family space, not a public platform. We do not routinely review content — as described in our Privacy Policy, we cannot casually read your family's content — so enforcement generally follows a report.

Legacy Quest can connect your household to relatives through the Entire Family layer, and individual items (such as calendar events) can be shared with specific people you choose. Anything shared becomes visible to the people it was shared with. Share deliberately: once relatives have seen something, removing it from the app does not undo their having seen it.

We work to keep Legacy Quest available and your data safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may need to take the service down for maintenance, and we may change or remove features as the product develops.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Settings → Backup & Data exports your family's content at any time.

Legacy Quest offers the following membership structure:

• Free — $0. Up to 3 household members, basic features, limited storage.
• Family — $4.99 per month. Up to 6 household members, all current core features, increased storage.
• Additional members — $1 per month for each household member beyond your plan's included members.

Where supported by the billing platform, paid subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. You may cancel at any time before your next renewal; cancellation stops future renewals, and your paid access generally continues through the end of the period you already paid for. Except where required by law or by the policies of the payment platform you purchased through, payments are non-refundable once a billing period has begun.

If you subscribe through an app store (such as Apple's App Store or Google Play), your purchase, renewal, cancellation and any refund are also governed by that store's billing policies, and cancellation is managed through your store subscription settings.

We may change pricing or plan features in the future. Where notice is required, we will provide it before a change affects an existing paid subscription.

Additional capabilities — such as AI features, family-wealth integrations, premium Legacy Academy content, expanded storage or advanced automation — may be offered in the future under separate or premium plans. Nothing in these terms promises those features as part of the memberships above.

As of this version, no payment processor is connected and nobody is charged: every household currently uses Legacy Quest without paying. The pricing above describes the intended membership structure and takes effect only when billing is actually switched on through a payment platform.

You can stop using Legacy Quest at any time and delete your account from Settings. A household parent can delete an entire household — a separate, more consequential action. Deleted data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy, including the 30-day retention window.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, that puts other people at risk, or where we are required to by law. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to export your data.

The Legacy Quest name, software, design and content we provide belong to us and our licensors. These terms do not give you rights to our branding or software beyond using the service as intended.

Legacy Quest is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Legacy Quest is a place to organise and store family information. It is not a law firm, a financial adviser, or a substitute for professional advice. Storing a will, trust or estate document in the Family Vault does not make that document legally valid, does not execute it, and does not constitute legal or financial advice. Talk to a qualified professional about your actual estate.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profits, and our total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited or waives rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

We may update these terms as the product develops. When we do, we will update the version and date at the top and notify you in the app. Continuing to use Legacy Quest after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules — subject always to any consumer-protection laws and other rights that apply to you and cannot legally be waived.
